1. Does The Gentle Clinic accept insurance?

We are out of network for all insurance companies. However, if your insurance provides coverage for the procedure, we will print out a “super bill” for you to submit to your insurance company so you can file a claim and be directly reimbursed by your insurance company.

2. Is the follow up appointment included in the total cost?

Yes, the total cost includes the cost of the procedure, the consultation and the follow up appointment.

3. When should I schedule my baby’s procedure?

Our clinic performs newborn circumcisions from day 1 of life to 6 weeks of life. However, the earlier the procedure is performed, the baby feels less discomfort, heals faster, and experiences less bleeding.

Our clinic performs newborn frenectomy (tongue or lip tie) from day 1 of life to 3 months of life.

3. If the procedure cannot be performed, do we get our money back?

Yes! If the procedure cannot be performed safely, you will not be responsible for any costs and will be refunded the total amount paid.

4. I had to cancel my appointment, do I get my $100 deposit back?

Your deposit is refundable up to 24 hours prior to your appointment. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment time or “no show” your appointment, your deposit will not be refunded.

5. How do you numb the baby?

We use topical lidocaine AND 1% plain lidocaine injection to perform a nerve block to the area which lasts approximately 20 minutes.

6. Which circumcision method do you use?

We use the Mogen clamp. This method is proven to be less painful, and less bleeding and is faster than other methods.

7. What is the healing time?

It depends on the age of the baby. Up to 2 weeks of age the healing time is about 7 days, 4 weeks old is about 10 days. and 6 weeks old about 14 days.

8. Do you require the Vit K shot?

We highly recommend the vit K shot after birth. However, we do not require the Vit K shot and will accept drops as an alternative.

9. Does the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists recommend newborn male circumcision?
